Brain cancer

Brain cancer is considered the leading cause of death within young patients under the age of 20. The best way to heal anything is to prevent it from ever happening and these are ways to help prevent the risk of developing cancer.

Understand your risks

Preventing any type of cancers starts with how your lifestyle choices are. If you are in the sun a lot, understand that if you don’t put on sunscreen it leaves a chance for cancer, if you eat a lot of processed meat, then your risk increases, if you are a heavy drinker, then your risk increases. It’s important to be aware of what could cause cancer around you.

Exercise

It doesn’t have to be olympic type exercising but getting your body into motion is all that matters. Being able to walk for about 30 mins a day, either on a treadmill or around the block would be fine. But just walking could sometimes be boring so try to mix in days to go hiking, swimming, or go to a gym. Working out can help decrease heart problems and prevent brain cancer.

Age can increase your risk of cancer

Although cancer can affect anyone of all ages, certain age groups are more prone to developing certain types of cancer. Getting to know what works for your body and what doesn’t will reduce the time it takes or you to figure out which treatments would work best for you or what diets and lifestyle choices could save you. Be proactive with your health.

Start a healthy diet

Sometimes a little change in diet might be fun. It is also good to make a good and healthy change. For a lot of meat eaters, its a normal thing to eat processed meat on the daily, but processed meat greatly increases your risk of cancer. Consistently keeping a diet that contains a good amount of veggies and eating fruits regularly will keep your body strong and fighting off any potential cancers.

Find out if your family has a history of cancer

Figure out if your family has a history of brain cancer or anything that could relate to any type of cancer. It is good to be prepared for what you may encounter and have a plan to treat whatever may develop or maybe be able to avoid the diagnoses all together.

Limit exposure to the sun

Getting some sun light is greatly recommended, and it feels great to sit at the beach on the sunny day. But as delightful and healthy it is to absorb some sunlight, too much of anything is bad for us. Ultraviolet radiation can be an issue if you’re exposed to the sun for too long and can cause damage to your skin cells, and possibly create a mutations causing not just brain cancer but skin cancer as well. But if you can’t help keeping out of the sun then remember to keep applying sunscreen after it wears off.
